The bar slides on Teflon bushings which glide over hardened solid steel rods and this is how it creates the commercial gym feel to the item. The actual framework is made from heavy duty steel and has 7 gauge reinforcing plates to create that amazing stability in the unit. Besides the smith machine you can add options to it which includes a pec dec and lat row pulldown attachment.
